The software arm of Proactive IT

We build software of every kind
and rebuild what you already run.

Custom applications, legacy systems modernised, AI built into the tools you use every day, and automation across the software you already pay for. Web, mobile and multi-tenant platforms, from one team in Colombo.

Discovery session and written scope at no cost - the quote is a separate step

What we build

If it runs the business,
we can build it or rebuild it.

Nine kinds of work, one team. Most engagements start as one of these and quietly become two or three, which is the argument for having them under one roof rather than three suppliers.

Legacy modernisation

The system that runs your business
is fifteen years old. That is not a mistake.

It is an asset with a maintenance problem. Everything the business knows about how it works is encoded in there, and most rewrites fail by throwing that away along with the technology. We keep the first part and replace the second.

What we usually find

  • A spreadsheet, or a database somebody built in the nineties, quietly running a core process
  • One machine in one office that the whole thing depends on
  • A vendor who stopped supporting it - or stopped existing
  • Reports exported from one system and typed into another
  • Rules nobody can explain, because the person who wrote them left

What you get back

  • The same rules, on technology that will still be supported in ten years
  • Reachable from a browser and a phone, wherever the work actually happens
  • Your data migrated and reconciled against the old system before anyone signs it off
  • Screens that answer immediately, on the connection you actually have
  • The logic written down as it is rebuilt, so it stops being folklore

Both run, briefly

The old system stays available while the new one takes over, so the business is never betting a day on a single switch being flipped correctly.

Reconciled, not just copied

Migrated records are checked against the source and the differences explained. A migration nobody verified is a rewrite with extra steps.

Yours at the end

The code, the database and the documentation belong to you. If you replace us afterwards, the next team can pick it up.

How it runs

Nobody signs anything
before we have looked.

The infrastructure side of Proactive IT opens with a free site survey. This is the same offer for software: someone comes and looks at how the work is really done, writes down what they found, and gives it to you whatever you decide next.

  1. 01

    Discovery session

We sit with the people who use the system and watch them work. No charge, no obligation, and nothing to buy at the end of it.

  2. 02

    Written scope

What we found, what we would build, and what we would leave alone. In writing, and yours to keep - including to take to somebody else.

  3. 03

    Build in the open

Short cycles against a working environment you can log into. You see the thing moving rather than a status report about it.

  4. 04

    Launch & keep going

Deployed, documented and handed over with your team walked through it. The number you call afterwards is the same one.

Tell us what
the software has to do.

A system that has stopped keeping up, a process still held together by spreadsheets, or an idea with nothing built yet. We will look at it properly before anyone talks about a quote.

Discovery and written scope - free, and yours to keep
